Wiene is a court in Halver in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).
Location and description
Wiene is 370 meters above sea level in the northeastern Halver on a ridge between the valleys of the Schlechtenbachss and the Steinbach . A small hill rises to the west of Wiene at 425.7 meters above sea level. The place can be reached via secondary roads of the state roads L528 and L868. Neighboring towns are Othmaringhausen , Ober- and Mittelcarthausen , Carthausen and Steinbach .

Wiene was first mentioned in a document in 1557, but the time of origin of the settlement is assumed to be between 1300 and 1400 following the second medieval clearing period. Wiene is a split from Othmaringhausen.
In 1818 15 people lived in the village. In 1838 Wiene belonged to the Gloerfeld peasantry within the mayor's office of Halver . The place, which was categorized as a courtyard according to the location and distance table of the government district of Arnsberg , had three houses, a factory or mill and an agricultural building at that time. At that time, 23 residents lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.
