Bundesliga 1974/75

Borussia Mönchengladbach became the first in the 1975/76 season of the German Bundesliga and thus German men's championship .

Season overview

The Gladbachers were able to successfully defend the title with their new trainer Udo Lattek . They won the championship ahead of the cup winners Hamburger SV and FC Bayern Munich, who won the European Cup for the third time in a row . 1. FC Köln, Eintracht Braunschweig, FC Schalke 04 and 1. FC Kaiserslautern (as runner-up cup winners) qualified for the UEFA Cup in places four to seven . Bayer 05 Uerdingen, Kickers Offenbach and Hannover 96 were relegated.

For HSV it was the most successful season to date. In addition to the runner-up championship, they won the DFB Cup (2-0 against 1. FC Kaiserslautern) and reached the UEFA Cup semi-finals.

The top scorer was Klaus Fischer from FC Schalke 04 with 29 goals.
