The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Beauvais and is part of the Communauté de communes de la Picardie Verte and the canton of Grandvilliers .

The commune, known as Héricourt-Saint-Samson until 1946, to which part of the hamlet of La Chaussée in the north, the hamlet of Beaumont, the homestead Beaudechon, part of Bois aux Moines, the hamlet of La Houssoye, the homestead Beauve on the plateau to the north des Thérain and the hamlet of Au-delà-de-l'Eau, south of the water, is located around nine kilometers northwest of Songeons on the northern bank of the Thérain.
