history
Andeville was considered a rural workers' community. In the 18th century, cabinet making and mother-of-pearl processing developed, which experienced an upswing up to 1900. In 1909 there was a three-month strike in the workshops. On August 27, 1944, members of the SS shot 17 residents, including the mayor. Two South African prisoners of war who were shot in August 1944 are also buried in the community cemetery.
