Ponchon is a French commune with 1,113 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Beauvais and is part of the Communauté de communes Thelloise and the canton of Chaumont-en-Vexin .

geography

The municipality on the Ruisseau de Ponchon brook, which flows into the Sillet, a tributary of the Thérain , is located just east of the former Route nationale 1 around two kilometers north of Noailles and twelve kilometers south-southeast of Beauvais . The districts of Pierrepont, Roye, Framicourt, Houssoye and Blainville belong to Ponchon.

history

Ponchon is one of the original parishes in Beauvaisis . There were three mills on the Sillet in the municipality. There were several tile factories between 1825 and 1920. There were also several production facilities for toothbrushes.
