Courcelles-lès-Gisors is a French municipality with 821 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Beauvais and is part of the Communauté de communes du Vexin Normand and the canton of Chaumont-en-Vexin .
geography
The community is located immediately southwest of Gisors on the border with the Eure , which is formed in the north and west by the Epte River. A cycle path runs along the former railway line that follows the Epte valley. The districts of Maureaumont, Beausséré and Les Delles belong to Courcelles.
history
In 1198 the battle of Gisors between the troops of Philip II (France) and Richard the Lionheart took place here.
