Le Crocq is a French municipality with 182 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Beauvais and is part of the Communauté de communes de l'Oise Picarde and the canton of Saint-Just-en-Chaussée .
geography
The municipality is located on the plateau of the Picard plateau around eight kilometers east-northeast of Crèvecœur-le-Grand on the D11 departmental road, which branches off from the D930 (formerly Route nationale 30 ) that bounds the municipality to the south . The municipality is bordered to the east by a section of the Chaussée Brunehaut system , which runs parallel to the A16 autoroute (which is completely outside the municipality) and probably follows the Roman road from Amiens to Beauvais .
Toponymy and History
The community name is derived from a Germanic personal name (Crocco).
The place was originally connected to the neighboring Cormeilles . At the end of the 12th century it was under the rule of Louis von Blois , who in 1202 transferred it to the Cistercian Abbey of Froidmont . In 1244 the Breteuil Abbey bought part of the land.
