Luchy is a French municipality with 642 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Beauvais and is part of the Communauté d'agglomération du Beauvaisis and the canton of Saint-Just-en-Chaussée .

geography

The agricultural community is located on the plateau of the Picard plateau around 7.5 kilometers south-southeast of Crèvecœur-le-Grand and 10.5 kilometers west of Froissy . It includes the hamlet of Rougemaison in the southwest .

history

The village, which belonged to the Abbey of Saint-Lucien in Beauvais until the French Revolution , was named Luciacum in 869 . The present district of Rougemaison was set on fire in 1472 by the troops of Charles the Bold . In the 18th and 19th centuries the community lived mainly from linen weaving. In the 19th century there were three windmills and a brick factory.
