Bornel is a French municipality with 4817 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Beauvais and is part of the Communauté de communes des Sablons and the canton of Méru .
geography
The community on the Esches river is located north of the A16 autoroute around eight kilometers southeast of Méru . The course of the Esches is followed by the railway line from Épinay-Villetaneuse to Le Tréport-Mers, which has a train station here (Gare de Bornel - Belle-Église). The districts of Courcelles, Montagny-la-Poterie, Le Ménillet and Hamecourt belong to Bornel, all south of the autoroute.

Bornell was first mentioned in 751 under the name Bordonellum .
On January 1, 2016, the previously independent communities Anserville and Fosseuse were incorporated into Bornel.
