Saint-Lucien and Saint-Fiacre Church

Pouilly is a French municipality with 156 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Beauvais and is part of the Communauté de communes des Sablons and the canton of Chaumont-en-Vexin .

The municipality located on the border of the Pays de Thelle and Vexin , in which the Ru de Pouilly stream rises, which drains to the Canal de Marquemont and thus to the Troësne , with the district of Montoisel is about twelve kilometers northwest of Méru .

Toponymy and History

The name of the community is derived from the Gallo-Roman Pauliacus (hence the name of the inhabitants: Pauléens).

Celtic finds show an early settlement. In 1591 the place was looted. The castle was built after 1750. From 1826 to 1832 Pouilly formed a single municipality with the former municipality of Montherlant .
