John T. Hunt

John Thomas Hunt (born February 2, 1860 in St. Louis , Missouri , †  November 30, 1916 there ) was an American politician . Between 1903 and 1907 he represented the state of Missouri in the US House of Representatives .

Career

John Hunt attended public schools in his home country. In his youth he was active as a player and referee in baseball . Later he worked as a stonemason and as a contractual partner in the stone trade. At the same time he began a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . In the congressional elections of 1902 he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the eleventh constituency of Missouri , where he succeeded Charles Frederick Joy on March 4, 1903 . After re-election, he was able to complete two legislative terms in Congress until March 3, 1907 .

In 1906 he was not nominated for re-election by his party. Two years later he failed again in the Democratic Primary for the 1908 election . After leaving the US House of Representatives, Hunt returned to the stonemasonry industry. He died on November 30, 1916 in St. Louis.
