Norman Adolphus Mozley
Norman Adolphus Mozley (born December 11, 1865 in Johnson County , Illinois , † May 9, 1922 in Bloomfield , Missouri ) was an American politician . Between 1895 and 1897 he represented the state of Missouri in the US House of Representatives .
Career
Norman Mozley attended public schools in his home country. In 1887 he moved to Stoddard County , Missouri, where he worked as a teacher. After a subsequent law degree and his admission to the bar in 1891, he began to work in Bloomfield in this profession. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . In the 1894 congressional election , Mozley was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the 14th constituency of Missouri , where he succeeded Marshall Arnold on March 4, 1895 . Since he renounced another congressional candidacy in 1896, he could only complete one legislative period in Congress until March 3, 1897 .
After leaving the US House of Representatives, Norman Mozley practiced again as a lawyer in Bloomfield. From 1919 to 1921 he was employed by the Missouri Supreme Court ( Commissioner of the State Supreme Court ). He later moved to Poplar Bluff where he worked as a lawyer. In 1921 and 1922, Norman Mozley was a delegate to a meeting to revise the Missouri constitution. He died on May 9, 1922 in Bloomfield, where he was also buried.
