Theron Ephron Catlin (born May 16, 1878 in St. Louis , Missouri , †  March 19, 1960 ibid) was an American politician . In 1911 and 1912 he represented the state of Missouri in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Theron Catlin enjoyed a private school education and then studied until 1899 at Harvard University . After a subsequent law degree at the same university and his admission to the bar in 1903, he began to work in this profession in St. Louis. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . Between 1907 and 1909, Catlin was an MP in the Missouri House of Representatives .

In the 1910 congressional election , he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the eleventh constituency of Missouri , where he succeeded Democrat Patrick F. Gill on March 4, 1911 . However, the latter appealed against the outcome of the election. When this was granted, Catlin had to resign his mandate on August 12, 1912 to Gill. In 1912, Catlin ran unsuccessfully to return to Congress . As a result, he practiced as a lawyer again. He was also a board member of St. Louis Union Trust Co. Theron Catlin died on March 19, 1960 in St. Louis, where he was buried.
