Morgan M. Moulder
Morgan Moore Moulder (born August 31, 1904 in Linn Creek , Camden County , Missouri , † November 12, 1976 in Camdenton , Missouri) was an American politician . Between 1949 and 1963 he represented the state of Missouri in the US House of Representatives .
Career
Morgan Moulder attended public schools in his home country and then studied at the University of Missouri at Columbia . After a subsequent law degree at Cumberland University in Lebanon ( Tennessee ) and his admission to the bar in 1928, he began to work in Linn Creek in this profession. Between 1928 and 1938 he was a prosecutor in Camden County. Then he worked again as a private lawyer. Between 1943 and 1946, Moulder worked for the federal attorney in western Missouri. From April 1947 to December 1948 he served as a judge in the 18th judicial district of his state.
Politically, Moulder was a member of the Democratic Party . In the congressional election of 1948 he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the second constituency of Missouri , where he succeeded Republican Max Schwabe on January 3, 1949 . After six re-elections, he was able to complete seven legislative terms in Congress by January 3, 1963 . Since 1953 he represented the eleventh district of his state as the successor to Claude I. Bakewell . During his time as a congressman, the Korean War and the beginning of the civil rights movement took place . The 22nd and 23rd amendments to the Constitution were also passed at that time.
In 1962, Moulder waived another congressional candidacy. In the following years he practiced as a lawyer again. He died in Camdenton on November 12, 1976. Morgan Moulder had been married to Nedra White since 1929, with whom he had a daughter.
