Charles A. Crow

Charles Augustus Crow (born March 31, 1873 in Sikeston , Missouri , †  March 20, 1938 in Campbell , Missouri) was an American politician . Between 1909 and 1911 he represented the state of Missouri in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Charles Crow attended the public schools in his home country and in 1896 moved to a farm near Bernie where he worked in agriculture. In 1901 he moved to Caruthersville ; there he worked in the real estate industry and in insurance. Between 1902 and 1909 he also served as a postman in his new hometown. At the same time he began a political career as a member of the Republican Party .

In the congressional elections of 1908 Crow Party in the 14th  constituency of Missouri was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he succeeded Joseph J. Russell on March 4, 1909 , whom he had defeated in the election. Since he lost to Russell in 1910, he was only able to serve one term in Congress until March 3, 1911 . After leaving the US House of Representatives, Crow returned to farming, real estate, and insurance. Politically, he no longer appeared. He died in Campbell on March 30, 1938.

He is a great grandfather of US singer Sheryl Crow .
