La Bachellerie ( Occitan : La Bachalariá ) is a French commune with 899 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Dordogne department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarlat-la-Canéda and to the canton of Haut-Périgord Noir, which has existed since 2015 . The inhabitants are called Bacheliers .

La Bachellerie is located about 40 kilometers east-southeast of Périgueux. La Bachellerie is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Rabier in the north, Peyrignac in the northeast, Le Lardin-Saint-Lazare in the east, Les Farges in the east and southeast, Aubas in the south and southeast, Auriac-du-Périgord in the south and west, and Azerat in the west and northwest.
