The church of Saint-Caprais in Carsac is an example of the rustic, rural architecture in the region. The medieval stone-roofed structure stands free within an extensive esplanade in the center of the village. The church is of Romanesque origin, but the central nave and the side aisles have Gothic pointed arches , which were drawn in in the 16th century. A Romanesque apse , covered by a semi-dome , adjoins the choir and is decorated with capitals in the archaic- oriental style.
