Marcillac-Saint-Quentin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Chapelle-Aubareil in the north, Saint-Geniès in the north and northeast, Saint-Crépin-et-Carlucet in the east, Proissans in the east and southeast, Sarlat-la-Canéda in the south and Tamniès in the west and northwest.
