Oberbuschsiepen is a courtyard in Radevormwald in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the North Rhine-Westphalian administrative district of Cologne in Germany .

Oberbuschsiepen is located in the southeast of Radevormwald, directly on the city limits to Halver and Wipperfürth . The neighboring towns are Buschsiepen , Kottmannshausen and Berge . The place can be reached via the federal road 229 . A road leads from the village of Eich via Hahnenberg and Weyer to Oberbuschsiepen.

The Kottmannssiepen rises to the south-east of Oberbuschsiepen. The water flows into the Bever . The Moorbach, which also flows into the Bever, runs about 350 meters west of the village.

history

In an excerpt from the cadastral maps of the municipality of Radevormwald from September 10, 1887, the location of the village is recorded for the first time in the form of a building floor plan.

A Landwehr line running from Wuppertal-Elberfeld to Marienheide-Krommenohl ran through the middle of Oberbuschsiepen, referred to as the “Bonrathshäuschen” by local historian Wilhelm Engels . This Bergische Landwehr secured the Bergisches Territory from incursions from the Märkische. The local researcher Gerd Helbeck dates the emergence of this Landwehr to the early 14th century.

Attractions

Southwest of Oberbuschsiepen, on the road towards the mountains, the terrain reaches a height of 384  m above sea level. NHN and is shown on topographic maps as a lookout point.
