Planaltina de Goiás is a Brazilian political community and city in the state of Goiás in the mesoregion East Goiás and in the micro-region Entorno de Brasília . It is located north of the Brazilian capital Brasília and northeast of the capital Goiânia .

history

With the establishment of the new capital Brasília on April 21, 1960, the area of ​​Planaltina was divided into two parts. The part with the historical center was located within the newly established Brazilian federal district and became the administrative region of Planaltina , the other part remained part of the state of Goiás . In the part that remained near Goias, the new administrative center called Planaltina de Goiás was set up, also known as "Brasilinha" in the region.

The localities of São Gabriel de Goiás and Córrego Rico also belong to the municipality.
