Christopher Morgan (rower)
Christopher "Chris" Morgan (born December 15, 1982 in Adelaide ) is an Australian rower .
Morgan only started rowing in 2003, and in 2005 he competed in the World Cup for the first time. At the 2005 World Rowing Championships , he finished eleventh with the double scull. 2006 followed a fifteenth place with Craig Jones in a double scull . After returning to the quad sculls, he finished tenth at the 2007 World Rowing Championships . In 2008, the four reached the final at the Summer Olympics in Beijing and finished fourth in the line-up of Christopher Morgan, James McRae , Brendan Long and Daniel Noonan .
In 2010 Morgan competed in two World Cup regattas with the double scull, but switched to the two with helmsman for the World Championships in New Zealand , where he won the gold medal together with Dominic Grimm and helmsman David Webster . In 2011 Morgan returned to the double fours for David Crawshay . With Morgan, James McRae, Karsten Forsterling and Daniel Noonan, the boat won gold at the World Championships in Bled . In 2012 the Australian double scull took third place at the Olympic Games in London behind the German and Croatian boats. Four years later, Morgan and David Watts finished seventh in a double scull at the 2016 Olympics .
