history

Collenberg was first mentioned in a document in 1557, the date of origin of today's settlement is assumed to be between 1400 and 1500 as a result of the late medieval expansion period. Collenberg was a split from the Burg or Sticht court.

At the latest since the early Middle Ages (according to other information since prehistoric times) two old streets crossed in Halver, the trade , pilgrimage and military route between Cologne and Soest (today's state road L284) on the one hand and the one from Hagen to Siegen (today's state road L528) on the other hand. Both ran on a common route on the route of today's state road L528 west of Collenberg.
