Career
Fritz Cejka began his career with his hometown club ASC Marathon Korneuburg , which he joined in October 1943. As a 19-year-old he was brought into the top Austrian league in October 1947 by Admira , where he quickly established himself in attack. Although the Jedleseer did not play a significant role in the A-League at the time, Fritz Cejka remained loyal to his first professional club for twelve years and was, not least thanks to his numerous goals, a non-relegation guarantee. In 1952 he was appointed to the Austrian national team by team boss Walter Nausch , where he also scored a goal against Yugoslavia . Nevertheless, it should remain the only A international match for Fritz Cejka, but there were eleven appearances in the B national team.
In 1959 Fritz Cejka was finally committed by the Vienna AC , where he formed a strong attack, especially with Ernst Kaltenbrunner . The striker from Korneuburg achieved two third places in the championship and the title of top scorer in the 1959/60 season with 28 goals in 26 games. At the end of his career, he was committed for the 1963/64 season by the promoted Kapfenberger SV , which he should ensure relegation. This was a fight until the last match day, but in the decisive game in the last round (June 21) in a 2-1 win against 1. Wiener Neustädter SC , he and Ignaz Puschnik scored the important goals. Fritz Cejka then hung on for two more seasons in the A-League at Vienna , before finally ending his professional career in 1966 at the age of 39 after 245 first division players and 438 first division games.
