Shon Weissman ( Hebrew שון וייסמן; * February 14, 1996 in Haifa ) is an Israeli soccer player . The striker is under contract with Real Valladolid in Spain and is an Israeli international.
Career
society
Weissman started his career at Maccabi Haifa . In January 2014 he made his debut for the professionals in the Ligat ha'Al when he was substituted on for Ran Abukarat on matchday 18 of the 2013/14 season against Hapoel Be'er Scheva in the 79th minute . By the end of the season he played ten games in the highest Israeli division. In the following season 2014/15 he came to two appearances in the league.
For the 2015/16 season he was awarded to the league competitor Hapoel Akko . After 18 games without a goal, the loan ended early in January 2016 and Weissman returned to Haifa. For the 2016/17 season it was awarded again, this time to the second division Maccabi Netanja . For Netanya he completed 21 games in the Liga Leumit , in which he scored twelve goals. With Netanya he was able to rise to the end of the season as a second division champion in the Ligat ha'Al.
After the loan ended, he initially returned to Haifa for the 2017/18 season and played one game for the club. After that, however, it was awarded a third time in August 2017, this time to league competitor Hapoel Ironi Kirjat Schmona . In September 2017, he scored his first goal in the Israeli top division in a 2-0 win against MS Ashdod . By the end of the season he completed 26 league games for Kirjat Schmona, in which he scored three goals.
After the 2017/18 season he returned to Maccabi Haifa. He made 25 league appearances for the club in the 2018/19 season and scored eight goals. For the 2019/20 season, Weissman moved to the Austrian Bundesliga club Wolfsberger AC , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2021. In the 5-0 home win against SV Mattersburg on matchday four, the Israeli scored four goals. He had previously scored three goals in the first three games of the season. In Wolfsberg's first Europa League game, Weissman scored the first goal in Wolfsberg's history in a European competition in a 4-0 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach . The striker only missed one of 41 competitive games and was placed in the 4-3-1-2 system under Gerhard Struber and his successor Ferdinand Feldhofer as a partner of Anderson Niangbo and later of Cheikhou Dieng and Alexander Schmidt . Weissman scored 37 goals and eight assists in all competitions, and was the top scorer in the league. With the WAC, the Israeli was able to qualify again for the group stage of the Europa League as third in the championship round.
At the end of August 2020, Weissman moved to the Spanish Primera División for Real Valladolid , where he received a contract that runs until June 2024.
National team
Weissman played for the Israeli U17 squad between 2012 and 2013 . In 2013 he was part of the U18 team . Between 2013 and 2014 he played for the U19 team . With this he took part in the EM in 2014 . Weissman was used in all three Israeli games, but with his country he had to be eliminated without points as the last of Group A in the preliminary round.
In 2017 he made his debut for the U21 team . In September 2019, he made his senior national team debut when he started in the European Championship qualification against Slovenia and was replaced by Munas Dabbur in the 61st minute .
