Hundsbach is a French commune with 346 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region ( Alsace until 2015 ). It belongs to the arrondissement Altkirch , the canton Altkirch and the municipality association Sundgau .

The municipality of Hundsbach in Sundgau is located at the mouth of the Hundsbach in the Thalbach , a tributary of the Ill between Altkirch and Basel .
Neighboring communities of Hundsbach are Zaessingue in the north, Franconia in the east, Willer in the south and Hausgauen in the west.
history
From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Hundsbach belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Altkirch district in the Upper Alsace district .

Attractions
Today there is an electrically driven mill in Hundsbach. The former water mill was built around 1394 and renewed in 1798. In 2003 a group of voluntary helpers was able to assert themselves to maintain it.
In the church of St. Martin there is an organ by the master organ builder Friedrich Goll from 1891 (Op. 96 of almost 600), in largely original condition with 2 manuals and 22 registers.
