Matrossowo ( Russian Матросово , German Uggehnen , Lithuanian Vogeinis ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It is located in Guryevsk Rajon and belongs to the municipal self-government unit of the Guryevsk district .
Geographical location
Matrossowo is located 16 kilometers north of the city of Kaliningrad (Königsberg) on a side road that connects Otradnoje (Karmitten) with Krasnopolje (Regitten , Sperlings) . Until 1945 Otradnoye was the next train station and was on the route of the Groß Raum – Ellerkrug small railway (Russian: Rjabinowka –Raduschnoje or Chrabrowo ).
history
The village, called Uggehnen before 1945 , was founded in 1258 and was the oldest village in the parish of the Church of Powunden . In 1874 Uggehnen came to the newly established Powunden District (Russian: Chrabrowo) and until 1939 belonged to the Königsberg i. Pr. , Then until 1945 to the district of Samland in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia .
As a result of the Second World War , Uggehnen came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia and in 1947 received the Russian name Matrossowo after the hero of the Soviet Union Alexander Matwejewitsch Matrossow . At the same time the place became the seat of a village soviet in Guryevsk Rajon , which was named after the place Khrabrovo since 1958 . From 2008 to 2013 Matrossowo belonged to the rural municipality Khrabrowskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Guryevsk.
Matrossowski selski Sowet 1947-1958
The village soviet Matrossowski selski Sowet (ru. Матросовский сельский Совет,) was established in June 1947. When the Kutusowski selski Sowet was set up in 1950, some places were apparently given to them. Some places also found their way into the Kosmodemjanski selski Sowet . In 1958 the village soviet was merged into the Khrabrowski selski Sowet . Some places ended up in the Pereslavski selski Sowet in the Zelenogradsk Raion (1965 at the latest) .
