The Warren County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Iowa . In 2010 the county had 46,225 residents and a population density of 31.2 people per square kilometer. By 2013 the population increased to 47,336. The county seat is Indianola , named after Indianola in Texas .

Warren County is part of the metropolitan area around the city of Des Moines .

Warren County was formed in 1846 from former parts of Polk County. It was named after Joseph Warren (1741–1775), a general who died in the American War of Independence .
