Awards of the Basketball Bundesliga
The awards of the Basketball Bundesliga are presented to the best players of the previous season in various categories at the end of each season. The best player in regular time (main round) is known as the Most Valuable Player (MVP for short). In addition to the honors for the players, there is also an award for the coach of the year. Furthermore, the players who are ahead in one of the important statistical categories at the end of the season are awarded.

Honors / Most Valuable Player
The selection for these awards is made by a panel of experts using a points system. The panel of experts consists of the 18 head coaches and team captains of the Bundesliga clubs as well as selected media representatives from all over Germany (currently around 30 sports journalists). Over the entire season, it will be scored after each game day. At the end of the season, the player with the most points won the award. A total of eight awards are currently being presented, three MVP awards and five other awards.

- Most Likeable Player : Most Popular Player of the Season (Pascal Roller Award)

- Most Improved Player : Most Improved Player of the Season (Until Season 2014/15 )
For the 2010/11 season , there were some changes: Previously, the awards for the yet scorer of the main round and the leader in the statistics three-point shots per game awarded. The Newcomer of the Year has been renamed Most Improved Player of the Year . The “best young player under the age of 22” is equivalent to the Rookie of the Year in the NBA , although this award can be achieved more than once, provided that the age limit (under 22 at the beginning of the season) has been met.
