Harold F. Youngblood

Harold Francis Youngblood (born August 7, 1907 in Detroit , Michigan , †  May 10, 1983 in Tucson , Arizona ) was an American politician . Between 1947 and 1949 he represented the state of Michigan in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Harold Youngblood attended public schools in his home country and then through 1927 St. Joseph's Commercial College . In 1927 and 1928 he worked for the Secretary of State of Michigan, John S. Haggerty , in a Detroit field office. From 1928 to 1935 he was a member of the Board of Auditors of Wayne County . He later worked in the heating and installation industry.

Politically, Youngblood was a member of the Republican Party . In 1934 he ran unsuccessfully for Congress . In the congressional elections of 1946 he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the 14th  constituency of Michigan , where he succeeded Democrat Louis C. Rabaut on January 3, 1947 . Since he faced Rabaut again two years later and was defeated by this, he could only complete one legislative period in Congress until January 3, 1949 . This was determined by the immediate consequences of the Second World War .

In 1954 and 1955 he was a member of the staff of the American diplomat responsible for foreign affairs in Berlin ( Director of Foreign Operations Administration ). He then worked in Tucson in the construction industry. Harold Youngblood died on May 10, 1983 in Tucson and was buried there.
