David Curson (2012)

David Alan Curson (born November 4, 1948 in Toledo , Ohio ) is an American politician and union official . From November 6, 2012 to January 3, 2013, he represented the state of Michigan in the US House of Representatives .

Career

David Curson attended high school until 1966. He then began studying at the University of Toledo , which he dropped out to serve in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War . After completing his military service, he worked for the Ford plant in Ypsilanti (Michigan). He was also involved in the trade union movement for employees in the automotive industry. He became a representative of the United Auto Workers and was also active in the international trade union movement.

After the resignation of MP Thaddeus McCotter , Curson was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the due by-election for the eleventh seat of Michigan , where he took up his new mandate on November 6, 2012. He prevailed against the Republican Kerry Bentivolio . In the regular congressional elections taking place at the same time , Curson did not run. Here Syed Taj ran for the Democrats, but Bentivolio was defeated. Thus, Curson's mandate ended on January 3, 2013 and went to the Republican.

David Curson is married and has three children.
