Robert James Huber (born August 29, 1922 in Detroit , Michigan , † April 23, 2001 in Troy , Michigan) was an American politician .

Huber attended the University of Detroit from 1935 to 1937 and graduated from the Culver Military Academy in 1939 . In 1943 he received his Bachelor of Science from Sheffield Scientific School , a college of Yale University . Huber then served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946 . In 1959, Huber, who was now a businessman, was elected mayor of Troy. He held this office until 1964. From 1965 to 1970 Huber sat in the Michigan Senate before he was finally elected as a Republican to the 93rd Congress , where he represented the State of Michigan in the House of Representatives from January 3, 1973 to January 3, 1975 . In 1974 he was unable to defend his mandate in the elections for the 94th Congress.
