Donald Joseph Albosta (born December 5, 1925 in Saginaw , Michigan , † December 18, 2014 in St. Charles , Michigan) was an American politician ( Democratic Party ).

Career

Albosta attended Chesaning Agricultural School and Delta College. He later served in the U.S. Navy, worked as a farmer, and held political office in his hometown of Albee Township and Saginaw County . From 1974 to 1976 he represented the 86th constituency in the Michigan House of Representatives .

In 1976 Albosta initially unsuccessfully applied for a seat in the US House of Representatives . From 1979 to 1985 he represented Michigan's 10th constituency there. He lost his re-election to Republican Bill Schuette . Albosta was chairman of the House Subcommittee on Human Resources . During his term of office, he was investigating the circumstances surrounding the release of the American hostages in Iran ; In the final report, Ronald Reagan's campaign committee was certified as unethical to illegal actions.
