Richard "Dick" Chrysler (born April 29, 1942 in Saint Paul , Minnesota ) is an American politician . Between 1995 and 1997 he represented the state of Michigan in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Dick Chrysler attended Brighton High School . He then became Vice President of Hurst Performance. He later founded his own company called Cars and Concepts and RCI . Politically, he became a member of the Republican Party . In 1986 he ran unsuccessfully in the Republican primary for the upcoming gubernatorial election . In 1992 he ran for Congress just as unsuccessfully against Milton Robert Carr .

In the 1994 congressional elections , Chrysler was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the eighth constituency of Michigan , where he succeeded Carr on January 3, 1995. Since he was defeated by Democrat Debbie Stabenow in the 1996 elections, he was only able to complete one term in Congress until January 3, 1997 . There he campaigned unsuccessfully for a tax reform.

After leaving the US House of Representatives, Dick Chrysler has not appeared politically.
