The Hauts-de-Seine department [ odsɛn ] ( German  "His Heights" ) is the French department with the atomic number 92. It is in the Region Ile-de-France in the Paris region and mainly includes the suburbs to the west of the capital.

The department borders in the north on the department Val-d'Oise , in the northeast on the department Seine-Saint-Denis , encloses the west of Paris , borders in the southeast on the department Val-de-Marne , in the south on the department Essonne as well to the west to the Yvelines department .

history

The Hauts-de-Seine department was created in 1968 when the Seine and Seine-et-Oise departments were divided into smaller departments.
