2013 NBA Draft
The 2013 NBA Draft took place on June 27, 2013 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn , New York . In two draft rounds, the 30 NBA teams were able to secure the rights to 60 young players from the NCAA college league and abroad.
The final selection order was determined in the draft lottery on May 21, 2013. The 14 teams that did not qualify for the playoffs of the 2012/13 season took part in this weighted lottery . The Cleveland Cavaliers won the lottery ahead of Orlando Magic and the Washington Wizards .
All players who signed up for the draft had to be born before December 31, 1994, regardless of their school education or nationality. If they were not an "international player," it must have been at least a year between their registration date and their final high school year.
The Canadian Anthony Bennett was selected as the first player. Behind him were Victor Oladipo and Otto Porter .
The German players Dennis Schröder , Elias Harris , Daniel Theis and Bogdan Radosavljević took part in the draft . However, only Schröder was selected in 17th place.
