Penne ( Occitan : Pena ) is a French commune with 579 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitania region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ). Administratively it is assigned to the arrondissement of Albi and it is part of the canton of Carmaux-2 Vallée du Cérou ( Vaour until 2015 ).

Penne is about thirty kilometers east-northeast of Montauban . Penne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cazals in the north and north-west, Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val in the north, Vaour in the east, Castelnau-de-Montmiral in the south and south-east, Larroque in the south, Bruniquel in the west and south-west and Montricoux in the west and Northwest.
