Santa Brigida is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 540 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Bergamo in Lombardy . The administrative seat of the municipality is the mountain village of the same name in the Bergamasque Alps . The municipality borders to the north with the municipality of Gerola Alta in the province of Sondrio . Santa Brigida is about 48 kilometers north of the provincial capital Bergamo .

The place has been documented since 917. Today the community lives primarily from tourism.
