The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 68th time in 1952/53 . The most important football cup competition in Scottish club football was directed and hosted by the Scottish Football Association. He started on January 24, 1953, and ended with the repetition finals on 29 April 1953 at Hampden Park of Glasgow . As the defending champion, FC Motherwell started the competition that had won against FC Dundee in the final of the previous year . In this year's Scottish Cup final, the Glasgow Rangers and FC Aberdeen faced each other. For the Rangers it was the 22nd Scottish Cup final since 1877 . The Dons reached the final for the third time in the club's history after 1937 and 1947 . The Rangers won after a 1-1, the replay final 1-0, which meant the 14th cup victory since 1894 . In the 1952/53 season , the Rangers also won the Scottish Championship for the 28th time and the double for the 7th time in the club's history . The Dons finished eleventh in the table. The League Cup was won by FC Dundee.
