Baronville (German Baronweiler , 1941-44 Barenweiler ) is a French commune with 364 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Forbach-Boulay-Moselle arrondissement .
geography
Baronville is about 40 kilometers southeast of Metz and 16 kilometers northeast of Château-Salins at an altitude between 251 and 322 m above sea level. The municipality covers 6.18 km².
Neighboring communities are Landroff in the north, Harprich in the northeast, Morhange in the east and southeast, Achain in the south and Destry in the west.

The place was first mentioned in 896 as Barrunvillam . Then Barandorf (1361), Barendorff (1383, 1454 & 1461).

Culture and sights
Sights include a church from 1857 which also includes the pillars of a Romanesque style church from the 12th century. The old church was destroyed around 1850.
Economy and Infrastructure
Several highways meet in Baronville (D 674 from Nancy and Sarreguemines ; D 999 from Metz and Dieuze ; D 20 from Faulquemont and Delme ). The nearest train station is in the neighboring municipality of Morhange .
Sectors are forestry with a sawmill and agriculture. Grains and vegetables are grown and poultry are raised.
