Ruhner Berge is a municipality in the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim in the German state Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The municipality is named after the Ruhner Mountains , a mountain range that runs through the municipality, a terminal moraine .
The previous municipalities of Marnitz , Suckow and Tessenow signed an area change agreement in summer 2018. With effect from January 1, 2019, they dissolved as legal entities and merged to form a new municipality called Ruhner Berge .
1850 inhabitants live in an area of 94.25 km² (as of December 31, 2017). The municipality of Ruhner Berge belongs to the Eldenburg Lübz office .

The municipality of Ruhner Berge is located south of Parchim on the border with Brandenburg on the Ruhner Berge ridge , which runs through the municipality to the south.

The community consists of the districts Drenkow, Griebow, Jarchow, Leppin, Marnitz, Mentin, Mooster, Dorf Poltnitz, Hof Poltnitz, Malow, Poitendorf, Suckow, Tessenow and Zachow.

The federal road 321 , which connects the districts of Suckow, Marnitz and Tessenow, runs in the area of the municipality of Ruhner Berge . Landesstraße 8 branches off in the Marnitz district. The federal motorway 24 , which can be reached via the Suckow junction , also runs through the municipality .

Coat of arms, flag, official seal
The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with torn off neck fur and crown and the inscription "GEMEINDE RUHNER BERGE".
