James E. Bromwell

James Edward Bromwell (born March 26, 1920 in Cedar Rapids , Iowa , † September 11, 2009 there ) was an American politician .

Bromwell studied at the University of Iowa , where he graduated in 1942. During the Second World War he served in the US Army with the rank of private . Bromwell was used in Europe. After four years of service, he left the Army in 1946 with the rank of captain . Back in the United States, he continued his studies at Harvard University , where he attended the School of Business Administration and graduated in 1947. He then went back to the University of Iowa, where he studied law until he graduated in 1950.

Bromwell has now been admitted to the bar and began practicing at Cedar Rapids. In 1960 he was elected as a Republican to Congress and represented there from January 3, 1961 to January 3, 1965 the state of Iowa in the United States House of Representatives . In 1964 he ran unsuccessfully for another term. In 1968 Bromwell tried, also unsuccessfully, to be nominated as a Republican candidate for the US Senate elections. He began practicing as a lawyer again until 1974. From 1979 to 1986 he worked again in this profession.
