Horace Mann Towner
Horace Mann Towner (born October 23, 1855 in Belvidere , Illinois , † November 23, 1937 in Corning , Iowa ) was an American politician and governor of Puerto Rico from 1923 to 1929 .
Towner studied at the University of Chicago and the Union College of Law , the Law . He was inducted into the bar in 1877 and practiced as a lawyer in Prescott, Iowa until 1880 . He then worked for the school board and was elected as a district judge in Iowa in 1890, which he remained until late 1910. From 1902 to 1911 he lectured on constitutional law at the University of Iowa . In 1910 he became the Republican Party in the United States House of Representatives voted, of which he was on 4 March 1911 to April 1, 1923, a constituency in Iowa. He stepped down to become governor of Puerto Rico, an office he held until 1929.
