The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 73rd time in 1957/58 . The most important football cup competition in Scottish club football was directed and hosted by the Scottish Football Association. He started on February 1, 1958, ended with the final on 26 April 1958 at Hampden Park of Glasgow . As the defending champion, FC Falkirk started the competition, which had won against FC Kilmarnock in the final last year . In this year's Scottish Cup final, FC Clyde and Hibernian Edinburgh faced each other. For Clydeit was the sixth Scottish Cup final since 1910 . The Hibs reached the cup final for the eighth time since 1887 . Clyde won the final 1-0 with a goal from John Coyle . The club won the Cup in Scotland for the third time after 1939 and 1955 . The Hibs lost their fifth consecutive final, followed by another five defeats by 2013 . It wasn't until 2016 after 114 years that the club won a cup final again. In the season 1957/58 was Heart of Midlothian for the 3rd time Scottish champions . Clyde was fourth, the Hibs table ninth . Celtic Glasgow won the League Cup .
