Volme , also called Berghaus in the 19th century , is a residential area in Halver in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Volme lies at 281  m above sea level. NHN in the Volmetal on the state road L892 above the confluence of the Schlemme into the Volme. The location is no longer independently perceptible today, but part of the closed commercial and residential development of the Halveran district of Oberbrügge . Other neighboring towns are Ohl and Vömmelbach .

history

Volme was first mentioned in a document in 1477, the date of origin of today's settlement is assumed to be between 1400 and 1500 as a result of the late medieval expansion period. Volme was a split from the court of Vömmelbach.

In 1818 five residents lived in the village. According to the table of localities and distances from the government district of Arnsberg , Volme was categorized as arable land and in 1838 had a population of nine, all of whom were Protestant. The place belonged to the Ehringhausen peasantry within the mayor's office of Halver and owned a house.

The place is recorded on the Prussian first recording from 1840 as a mountain house . From the Prussian new admission in 1892, the location is not labeled on the TK25 measuring table . At the end of the 19th century a factory was built on the site, which is also recorded on the measuring table until the end of the 20th century with the abbreviation Fbr .

The municipality and estate district statistics of the province of Westphalia listed the place as a colony with eight houses and 113 inhabitants in 1871 . The municipality lexicon for the province of Westphalia in 1885 gives a number of 205 inhabitants for Vollme who lived in 13 houses. In 1895 the place had 30 houses with 370 inhabitants.

In the first third of the 20th century, the gaps to the neighboring village Ehringhausen closed and Volme became part of the local area of ​​Oberbrügge.
