Voswinkel is a court in Halver in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Voswinkel, the southernmost district of the city of Halver, is located at an altitude of 350 meters above sea level directly on the city limits of Wipperfürth . The nearby Ibach , a tributary of the Wupper, flows through the village . To the east lies the Kerspe dam .

Neighboring places are Auf dem Heede and Schlachtenrade , as well as the Wipperfürth villages Wiegen , Dahl and Speckenbach . The place can be reached via a side road that branches off the state road L284 near Engsfeld and leads to Rönsahl . There are two natural monuments and a memorial stone near the place.

history

Voswinkel was first mentioned in a document in 1489, but the time of origin of the settlement is assumed to be between 700 and 800 during the Saxon - Franconian border disputes.

The Elberfeld line of the Bergische Landwehr ran from the Middle Ages to the early modern times to the west and south of the town .

In 1818 four residents lived in the village. In 1838 Voswinkel belonged as Vosswinkel to the Bommerter peasantry within the mayor's office of Halver . The sound of Ortschafts- and removal table of the governmental district Arnsberg as Ackergut categorized place had at this time a house and four farm buildings. At that time, six people lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.
