1 Despite a coach change to John Patrick, the Neckar Giants Ludwigsburg were defeated by the Fraport Skyliners in the decisive duel for relegation on the last day of the match and thus relegated to the ProA . However, the basketball Bundesliga denied the sporting climber Düsseldorf Baskets the license for the 2013/2014 season for economic reasons and the Neckar Giants were able to secure their league by purchasing a wild card . Due to a change of sponsor, the Neckar Giants have renamed themselves to MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg .
2 The LTi Gießen 46ers were deducted a total of six positive rating points due to an application for insolvency during the current season. The LTi Gießen 46ers team was the only athletic relegated team in the 2012/2013 season.
