Berdún

Berdún is a Spanish town in the foothills of the Pyrenees in the province of Huesca in the autonomous community of Aragon . The place, located in the Comarca Jacetania , had 236 inhabitants in 2015. Berdún is the administrative seat of the municipality of Canal de Berdún .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 971.

Berdún was initially founded near the Río Veral river . After being destroyed twice by floods, the residents relocated to Table Mountain on which the town is located today. The church stands at its highest point, enclosing the surrounding houses like a defensive ring.
