Dalberg is a municipality in the Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Verbandsgemeinde Rüdesheim .
geography
Dalberg is located in the Graefenbach valley in the Hunsrück . To the east is Wallhausen , southwest Argenschwang and northwest is Spabrücken .
history
The castle of the Lords of Dalberg was built around 1150/70. The place was probably only created with or after the construction of the castle and originally belonged to the village of Wallhausen . In the Thirty Years War the village lost about 2/3 of its population.

Culture and sights
The Dalberg castle ruins , formerly the seat of the barons of Dalberg , towers above Dalberg. In the village there is a small church from 1485 with an extension from the 18th century. The church contains old wall paintings from the 15th century.
