Ice Hockey World Championship 2020

The ice hockey world championships of 2020 are organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation in five different age and gender classes. A total of 32 tournaments take place in all divisions.

Tournament overview

Men's

The 84th World Ice Hockey Championships the men would have from 8 to 24 May 2020 in Switzerland should be resolved. Due to the corona crisis, this was canceled. The tournament was awarded at the IIHF Congress in Moscow during the 2016 World Cup . Switzerland was the only applicant with the venues in Zurich and Lausanne . It would have staged the tournament for the eleventh time. The top division tournament was last held in Switzerland in 2009 .

The 44th U20 Junior Ice Hockey World Championship will take place from December 26, 2019 to January 5, 2020 in the Czech cities of Ostrava and Třinec .
