The Football League First Division 1967/68 was the 69th season of the highest English football league . It began on August 19, 1967 and ended on May 21, 1968.
Manchester City won their second English championship in the club's history by two points ahead of defending champions and local rivals Manchester United . Both promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers and Coventry City were able to hold the class; instead, Sheffield United and Fulham FC had to move into the Second Division . These two clubs should be replaced in the following season by the two second division promoted Ipswich Town and Queens Park Rangers .
A total of 482 players were used, with Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur having the fewest with 18 and Fulham with 29 the most players in league games. 115 newcomers opposed 108 footballers, who last came into play in the 1967/68 season. 20 players were able to play all 42 league games of their club.

The Manchester City championship team
The following list lists all players who played in a league game for Manchester City during the 1967/68 season. It must be noted that in English football a minimum number of games is usually required in order to receive the official championship medal. Since there was uncertainty about the specific regulation before the introduction of the Premier League, all players who presumably did not receive a championship medal due to their low contribution were marked with an asterisk (*). The number of missions and the goals scored are given in brackets.
